English Language Training (ELT) in the UK
by Anslem Dorman
What does the UK have that other places cannot offer and why should you choose to study an English course in the UK instead of in, for example, America?
Well, of course, I am biased as I work for a school of English in England, but I really do think that the UK has a lot to offer and so do the thousands of students that visit Great Britain each year.
Maybe it is worth analysing why people want to study abroad. There are a number of reasons why people travel long distances to get experience and knowledge. Off the top of my head I can think of the opportunities for language improvement, new places, new friendships, and self development for future jobs or study as really good reasons, but maybe you have your own different ones?
Around 600,000 people travel to the UK every year to learn English. It's home to the English language. It has the best choice of English language courses anywhere in the world. And its qualifications are recognised wherever you go. The UK is an exciting place to live too, with a rich mix of history, culture, global influences and opportunities to learn and progress in any chosen career.
Studying English in Oxford is as old as English itself. The Oxford Dictionary is the authorative voice of the English Language. English courses in the UK vary a lot and English language schools offer different learning solutions. If you are looking for the best practices it is worth to consider small friendly independent schools in the beautiful North Oxfordshire. Places like Banbury are seen as the gateway to the Cotswolds, one of England’s areas of outstanding natural beauty. To be sure of a school’s credibility there are a number of organisations governing English teaching and student welfare quality. These include The British Council by which a school may be recognised, or membership of English UK. These ‘stamps of approval’ will help you to be sure that the place you chose to go to is good and the service they provide is creditable. Language schools in the UK and therefore also in the Oxford area provide English Language courses for business and academic purposes. Oxford Language schools are reputed to produce the best language training solutions in the world and here at ELT-Banbury we have for example 30 years experience providing British Council accredited courses. Students of small schools like ours enjoy personal attention, excellent teaching, inclusive social activities and friendly accommodation and the fact that Oxford University college buildings and the beautiful parks and gardens of the city are only 20mins away by train.
